About Us

We are the Hedgehog Manor caretakers and maids. Hedgehog manor residents are catered to and pampered unceasingly. Human 1 is a Veteran Helicopter Search and Rescuer and Human 2 is a Wildlife Biologist. There are also three more furry spoiled kids in the house. Our purpose is to provide the residents of Hedgehog Manor with the most luxury living every hedghog and pet companion deserves. They are provided the best gourmet foods, Voss spring water, a climate controlled environment, endless toys and treats, their mansion refreshed and cleaned every morning, routine veterinary care, daily belly rubs, physical affection, and unconditional love given until the end of their days with us.

The mansion was built for Penelope and after adopting Rufio we wanted to share their lives to the world purely as a hobby and not for profit. With 7 levels, 5 bedrooms, a dining room, a fitness room, a beach, a garden, a play room, and living room, all connected by an intricate network of tubes and manually closing doors on each level, they are free to roam as they please. Contrary to most hedgehogs that are isolated from eachtoher they love staying close together among the vastness of the mansion. Penelope and Rufio are the only permanent residents. They unexpectedly will have baybays which we will offer up for adoption when they are ready to leave the safety and security of their bougie parents and human butlers. And what unfolds is documented in this MTV Real World for Hedgehogs. Stay tuned. In this Hedgehog Paradise Island show, a new permanent roommate will be introduced soon. And the plot will thicken.

Penelope: Around 2 years old. Pinto African Pygmy. She was adopted from 2 family friends who are law enforcement officers who’s promotions made them unable to give her the human time she deserves. She is what began our journey towards hedgehog love. Loves to curl up in your elbow as you watch tv. She’s always curious, coming out as soon as she hears you in the room no matter what time of day or night. Loves to have her belly rubbed at feeding time. Will run to the garden after a bath because she knows mealworms are going to be dropped in the grass for her to forage. 

Rufio: Born on Christmas week 2023. Cinnamon African Pygmy. Rescued from a hedgehog breeder in Texas. Compared to his fancy patterned litter mates he was basic and no one wanted him, so we had him shipped to South Carolina. As soon as we received Rufio he was so physically affectionate he became the most adorable and loving addition to our lives. Far from a basic b*, his show quality cinnamon pattern and handsome full mask is where the bar on African Pygmy Hedgehogs are set. We slowly introduced him to Penelope starting slow by using her fleece with her smells placed in his room. As soon as they met it was pure love, he slept in her hutt every night, even though he had 3 other beds to go to, he wouldn’t leave her side. And Penelope never once kicked him out. Until she got preggers and they were separated. Two star crossed lovers, at night you can see Rufio smelling the air, he knows she’s still around. So close but so far out of reach. They will be reunited soon when the baybays are ready to meet papa Rufio.

Coconut: Born 06/05/24. White Reverse Pinto African Pygmy. She is a wander lust. She is constantly roaming outside the comfort of her breeding home, even though her eyes have not opened yet. She will begin crying after she gets tired of walking around the room and begs for mom to have to carry her back to her bro and sis. Because of her white color, she will be the most friendly of the litter. It’s a fun hedgehog fact that all white hedgehogs always tend to be the most friendly and tamed. 

Shadow: Born 06/05/24. Cinnamon Full Mask African Pygmy. He is the hungriest, biggest and laziest. He will plop next to mom, find a nipple, and not move all day and night. The two sisters will walk all over him and he just lays their unencumbered in his own peaceful world. He loves to be picked up, as soon as he smells you he will walk into your palm and then will immediately fall asleep in your hand. Also the quietest. He doesn’t peep as much as the others or not at all. 

Amy: Born 06/05/24. Pinto African Pygmy. She takes after mom. And has these adorable white horns on her head. When she gets woken up she will ball up like Sonic ready to collect rings but as soon as she smells you her curiosity sparks and immediately she warms up. When you pick her up she wont stop licking you, and then will anoint her self, and then go back to licking you. Her baby yawns will melt your heart.
